Vintage Purple Velvet Gown with Black Lace Skirt, 1930s Ferdinand Madrid, Dancing Dress, 33 bust, with issues
ERA: True vintage item from the 1930s
MEASUREMENTS: the item is 50 inches long, it will fit a 33 inch bust with room, 26 inch waist, full around hips. 132 inch hem sweep
MATERIAL: velvet, rayon satin, silk lace
LABEL: embroidered 'Ferdinand Madrid' on the inner lining
Fitted purple velvet bodice with long sleeves that have pointed ends. Hanging black pom-pom trim on the tops of the shoulders. Cut square flaps around the bottom of the bodice over the skirt, on the front and the back. Light lavender rayon satin lining on the skirt with black silk lace over it. Heavy metal hooks down the back. Bodice is lined in acetate.
CONDITION: The dress is in good to very good condition with some issues. There is a 1 inch hole at the front of the velvet neckline. There are 5 old repairs on the skirt from 3 to 5 inches long. There is a 5x3 inch hole/tear midway down the skirt and a few smaller scattered holes. The silk lace needs to be treated with care. Minor wear under the arms. Has a bit of an old smell.
