Vintage Hand painted ceramic Mermaid, Sitting Blonde 6 inches, 1970s? OOAK

Nicely hand painted mermaid, I've had her for over 20 years. Age unknown, but it has 'JHS 72' on the bottom. Could 1972 be the year that it was made?
She looks like she was an unpainted figurine that was painted maybe in a ceramics class. So while I've seen this figurine before, she is one of a kind due to her personalized painting.
She is about 6-1/4 inch tall. and about 4-1/2 inches across the bottom.
She is in very good to excellent condition except for an 1/8 inch chip on the tip of her tail.
