Vintage 1940s Black Velvet Hat, Gathered Front, Topper

Dramatic black velvet topper hat. The front of the hat is gathered and stands up like a fan across the top of your head. The back of the hat is a cap that is fitted to your head. There is a ribbon band along the bottom, I don't know if that is meant to be seen or if it was meant to be tucked in. I have it tucked in on my mannequin, but wearing the inner band showing will help it grip your head better. Lined in rayon.
CONDITION: The hat is in very good condition, there flat spots on the velvet. That inner band has make-up residue on it.
