Vintage 1930s Bonnie Bag Style Purse, 1940s Striped Cotton Fabric with Wood Discs, Decoupaged with Flowers, issues
ERA: True vintage item from the 1930s to 1940s
MEASUREMENTS: the item is inches 20 inches at the widest side to side. The body is about 14 inches long including the wood discs and the fabric body, plus 8 inch long straps
MATERIAL: wood, cotton
LABEL/Markings: unmarked, probably home made
Grey, yellow and white striped, midweight cotton body lined with cotton twill. Wood disc on the front and the back, attached to the body with green thread. Pansies decoupaged on one, daffodils on the other. 2 fabric straps, a single snap on each side of the wood.
CONDITION: Good condition. The striped fabric is dull and lightly dirty looking with light staining. The straps are the same. Lining is also aged with some spotting.
The pansies have 1-1/4 x 1/4 inch wide scrape in the design. Some fine scratches in the flowers on both sides.
Each strap has been shortened by hand on both sides.
