Skirt of mystery. All sheer, white cotton organdy eyelet with big beautiful design and grey linen waistband. The eyelet feels like an older fabric, maybe Edwardian. It's possible that it was an older piece that could have been altered, it definitely has been altered at some point. The Grey linen waistband has been added to the skirt. It has belt loops and there is some handstitching on it. The grey linen is backed with a stiff white backing. The skirt once had a rayon lining that has been cut out, remnants remain around the waistband. This removed lining appears to be a 1940s fabric. A short metal zipper has been added on the side.
So we have a pretty skirt, with questionable dating (1910s-1940s) Made or altered at some point.
CONDITION: The skirt is in very good condition. The waistband was originally black, but it faded when I soaked the skirt. There are some breaks in the eyelet design around some openings.
