Vintage 1950s Swimsuit White Cotton with Embroidered Cherries, Halter with Ruched Elastic, fits 36 inch bust, #2

MEASUREMENTS: the swimsuit body is 23 inches long from top edge to crotch, fits 36 inch bust, 24 to 28 inch waist, up to 36 inch hips.

CLEANING: hand washed
White cotton swimsuit with embroidered red cherries over it. Smocked elastic across the top of the bust and in line down the front. Fully smocked elastic back, elastic legs, panel front. Lined bust section with plastic bust stays. Single halter strap that is adjustable on one end or it could be worn without the strap. It doesn't look like there was ever a 2nd strap.
Jantzen made an identical swimsuit in this style, but this suit has no maker label.

CONDITION: The swimsuit is in very good to excellent condition. Elastic is still stretchy with firm hold. But there is a 1x2 inch area near the side seam where the smocking is undone. The edges are very lightly off white.
