Vintage 1940s Black Taffeta and Velvet Evening Gown, 36 bust, some issues

ERA: True vintage item from the 1940s
MEASUREMENTS: the item is 55 inches long, it will fit a 36 inch bust with room, 32 inch waist, 40 inches around hips. Shoulders are 15 inches wide
MATERIAL: velvet, taffeta

CLEANING: dry cleaned
Black rayon taffeta gown with sections of black velvet. Sweetheart neckline with gathered short sleeves. No seam at the waist, it probably originally had a thin belt. Full skirt with ruffled hem, taffeta bow midway down the front. Metal zipper down the sides, unlined.
CONDITION: The gown is in very good condition. 1/8 inch hole on the chest, probably from a brooch. The seam along the zipper has been repaired. There are clusters of holes around the bottom taffeta ruffle and in the velvet section above. A few holes in the cluster are 1/4 inch but most are under 1/8.
