Vintage 1920s Satin Gown Seafoam Green Silk, Pleated Skirt, 33 bust, issues
ERA: True vintage item from the 1920s
MEASUREMENTS: the gown is 50 inches long, fits 33 inch bust, 30 inches at waist, 40 inches around hips. 9-1/2 inches around the ends of the sleeves.
MATERIAL: crepe backed silk satin
LABEL: none
Such a pretty blue-green matte satin gown, probably meant to be ankle length, hand and machine stitching. The short sleeves are fitted at the bottoms and they have strips of fabric handstitched to the shoulders. Curved seam under the bust and seam at waist with a layer of pleated silk over the long pleated skirt. Handstitched around the neck, keyhole on the back (doesn't open) The bodice has a thin cotton tank top lining inside. This pulls up the skirt and blouses the bodice a little. It has a side opening with hook and thread loops. The skirt is unlined.
CONDITION: The dress is in good condition but with issues. There is light aging on the bodice and areas of the skirt. Some pink make-up marks on the neckline. There are brown spots on the dress on the pleated peplum and large group of spots on the skirt side and spots around the hem.
The thread loops on the side opening are broken. The pieces on the shoulder needs to be re-stitched in spots. The seam on one shoulder also need to be resewn. There are tiny vertical stitch lines on the neckline.
If the dress was in excellent condition, it would be priced at $300+.
