Very fine, sheer white cotton piece that is an oblong diamond shape. Handmade with very elaborate hand done embroidery. Has a small note of providence 'Fiscue embroidered by and worn by Elizabeth Machesney Haines. Born in Ireland 1932, married John B. Haines in 1855, died in 1888'
The piece is meant to be worn around the neck and tucked into the front of a lady's shirt neckline.

A line of 7 holes up to 1 inch in size. There are holes and thinning of the fabric within the embroidery all around the edges and within the main area of embroidery. There are several old repairs. The item is in delicate condition but is still a very nice collectible or display item.
