#2044- Embroidered Yellow Rayon Oriental Top - $36.00
Era - 1930s Measurements - 23 inches long, fits 34 inch bust, 37 around bottom Label - none Fabric - woven rayon satin
This pullover shiny yellow satin rayon top has a great Oriental style to it. I'm guessing that it was the top to pajamas. It has a black high necked collar and black trim on a curve down the front,
where it opens with hidden snaps. The black has black and yellow decorative frog and narrow ivory cotton lace along the edges. There is thick rayon embroidery in red, blue, green and pink. The ends
of the sleeves are trimmed in black and there was once elastic on the inside of the wrists to gather the fabric, forming bell shapes at the end of the sleeves. Two small pockets with lace and black trim.
Condition - Very good condition. The top has a 1-1/2 inch brown ring mark under the front of each underarm. I haven't tried to wash this piece to removes those marks because of the embroidery. Rayon dyed threads like those tend to bleed when wet.
#30-67- Black silk robe with gold cord dragons - $75.00
Era - 1920-30s Measurements - 47 inches long, fits 38 inch bust and 40 hips Label - made in Japan Fabric - matte silk satin with metallic cording
Mine, Mine, Mine!! Another piece that I want to keep! This is a very
fine black silk matte satin robe, cut straight down the sides with wide square sleeves (NOT kimono style) This robe has a thin woven wool layer inside with inner fine silk lining.
It closes down the front with loops of fabric over little fabric knots, kind of like fros. There is decorative gold metallic cording in designs down the front and around the ends of the sleeves.
The back has a more elaborate cording design of two gragon heads. Very cool!
Condition - Very good condition. There is some loose and missing cording from around the ends of the sleeves. It is obvious that some cord is missing, but it's
not too terrible. There is a 1/2 inch hole in the silk on the front and about 10 teeny holes at about 1/8 inch each scattered on the piece. The holes aren't terribley notceable
because the lining under the holes hides them some. Still a very nice, hard to find piece.
#30-69- Black velvet gown with puffy sleeves - $75.00
Era - 1930s Measurements - 57 inches long, fits 36 inch bust, 27 waist, full hips Label - none Fabric - rayon velvet
Black rayon velvet gown with puffy sleeves and low back. This dress has wide square neck on the front and the back.
The back of the neckline overlaps and has a notch in the center. The sleeves are short, but full and puffy with gathers at the fitted bottom of the sleeves. The dress closes on the side
with snaps and hooks. It is a nice clingy bias cut and the gown is fuller around the bottom. The dress is unlined. Missing belt.
Condition - Very good to excellent condition. I spotted only a 1/4 inch hole on lower back of the skirt. The velvet is nice, just a few flat spots and blemmishes. It needs a thorough and patient steaming.
#30-74- Black crepe faux halter gown w/beading -
Era - 1930s Measurements - Gown is 60 inches long, fits 40 inch bust, 34 waist and bias cut hips are up to 50 inches wide. The jacket is 16 inches long and fits 42 inch bust Label - none Fabric - creped rayon
Great black gown in a great larger size! It is a crepe rayon with bronze beads stitched in spirals along the front of the neckline
and on the little jacket too. The dress has a halter front which loops over the neck (no hook on back, it is sewn) the back of the dress is stitched to the front at the shoulders, so
it's not your traditional low back halter. Instead there is a keyhole slit on the upper back of the gown. There is a seam at the waist and the skirt is bias cut over the hips with a full sweeping bottom
Has snap closures down the side opening. The little jacket is open down the front and it looks like it once had sleeves that were removed (I stitched the raw edges on the arm openings)
Both pieces are unloned.
Condition - The set is in very good condition. The dress does have a 1 inch hole on the lower front-side of the skirt (see last photos)
Next to it are three 1/4 inch holes. There is a stain around the 1 inch hole plus another 2 inch stain nearby. Otherwise no other flaws seen on the dress or the jacket.
Era - 1930s Measurements - Jacket is 20 inches long, fits 32 inch bust, 14 shoulders, 20 sleeves. Skirt is 32 inches long, 26 wiast, 39 hips Fabric - linen
Made of a rough, natural color linen. The straight jacket has big shell buttons down the front. The jacket has curved stitched deatils across the front and stitched strips
of fabric down the front and the back. There is a space through each of the 4 strips to run a belt through them (missing belt) The skirt has a fold down the front and closes with a button. Skirt
is a-line. Both pieces are unlined.
Condition - The set is in very good condition. The skirt is missing the button from the waist closure, and it looks like it had decorative
buttons down the fold on the front, but those are also missing. There are two 3/4 inch darned repairs on the back of
the skirt, about 6 inches down from waist (see photo) The jacket has a 1 inch brown spot on the side of sleeve.
Era - 1930s Measurements - 34B Label - Lilees by Lily of France and Bur-Mil rayon label Fabric - rayon and cotton
Peach rayon satin bra with just one cup. Cup has peach cotton mesh across the top. It has an elastic strap around the bottom
and a strap for the side with the cup. Unusual bra, but I have seen one like this before. I think they were made for special gowns, maybe one shoulder?
Condition - Very good condition, but hook for shoulder strap is missing.
